Although redesigned, the look of the Astra has only been minimally altered. The front has been replaced by the grille and bumper, the back of nothing, the interior instruments, and infotainment. However, the Astra tested is a brand new car compared to its predecessor.

With a new 1.2-liter petrol engine, better aerodynamics and lower weight, the Astra is significantly more fuel-efficient than before. In practice, it consumes less than 1.5 l / 100 km, so in the city test, we only consumed 6.8 l / 100 km. The engine is a bit more restless than we are used to, but it is elastic and comfortable to ride.

Everything is fuel-efficient, so the six-speed gearbox has long gear ratios. Therefore, acceleration to 100 km / h takes longer than expected, and top speed is unusually high at 215 km / h. Intermediate accelerations are very good. The Astra is especially comfortable to drive on long journeys. The interior is spacious and comfortable enough and very ergonomic. Commendable, partially digital instruments and a much more advanced and better infotainment system deserve praise.

The tested car is incredibly richly equipped, it also has a massage and air-conditioned leather seats, excellent LED Matrix lights ... The equipment of this car is, without exaggeration, at the level of those of the most expensive sedans. It has the most expensive equipment package, and the additionally installed equipment costs more than 50 thousand kunas, so it is clear that with less luxury you can go much cheaper. The tested car is equipped only to show what the new Astra can have, the average customer will choose more modestly.
