Peterbilt 389 - the best value truck in America

Peterbilt is one of the largest truck manufacturing companies in the United States. Ever since its founding in 1937, this manufacturer has represented heavy-duty commercial vehicles with an excellent combination of power, quality, performance, and design, and has now won another prestigious award.

Specifically, at the choice of the renowned Price Digests, Peterbilt 389 was named the best-selling truck after five years of use. While $ 187,601 is required for the new model, the 389 retains 39.85% of that value when it changes ownership five years later.

This truck thus outperformed direct competitors such as the Kenworth W900L, International Prostar, Western Star 4900 and Volvo VNL. The survey also found that first owners generally keep their trucks for four years and then sell them at about 640,000 miles per hour.

Peterbilt 389 debuted in 2007 as a replacement for the legendary model 379, which has been manufactured for 20 years. Although similar to its predecessor, the 389 is significantly more modern in terms of mechanics and safety. It can be ordered with a variety of Cummins, Caterpillar and Detroit diesel engines, as well as 13- to 18-speed gearboxes.
