The US Department of Commerce is expected to extend the deadline they have given to China's Huawei Technologies, which will allow the Chinese to further purchase supplies from US companies to maintain service to existing Huawei customers.
The temporary general license for Huawei will be extended for 90 days, sources told Reuters.
Huawei was blacklisted in May and is still banned from buying parts and components for new products without special licenses.
This granting of time will renew the contract, which lasted until August 19, and will allow further maintenance of telecommunications networks and software maintenance of the Huawei device.
